Local Outreach: December 2021

  Burmese congregation luncheon Sunday, November 14, 2021 Many of you probably do not know that during COVID, the small church building across the street, Gethsemene Baptist Church, became vacant.  Recently, the Piedmont Baptist Association helped a small Burmese congregation transition their services to this location.  This  is the first semi-permanent home for this congregation since forming in 2009.   Our church outreach ministry has known and ministered to these families through our Tuesday, Burmese ministry at PBA for the past few years.  It is very special to see how the Lord has provided them this church property across the street from us!    Pictured below is Pastor Sa and his wife Kim, and the International History Makers congregation.  GBC pastors and staff welcomed the congregation to the community by hosting a luncheon for them on Sunday, November 14th.   A special thank you to H.I.S. ministry for helping with the meal.

Local Outreach: September

  The Outreach Ministry just finished summer activities and would like to say THANK YOU to those in our congregation who make donations or volunteered to help with the summer activities!  God worked through many of you to financially support all of the following outings: 2 groups taken to Keeley Park Splash Pad and Playground 4 groups taken to the Greensboro Science Center 1 group swimming day 2 group fishing trips 1 group skate day 1 group to Bumper Jumpers indoor playground Most of the parents and children had never visited these places or experienced these activities.  We praise God for working through our church to engage refugee families in such a special way.   With school back in session, the Outreach Ministry will resume weekly Bible clubs in the community on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  If you are interested in learning more about Outreach Ministry or volunteering, contact Denya Haymore at denyahaymore@gospelbc.org .

The GBC Outreach Ministry is continuing to build relationships with parents and children from 12 countries right here in Greensboro!  During July, we completed two group trips to Keeley Park to enjoy the splash grounds, walking trails, and fishing with bamboo poles.  We took a total of 85 children and parents!   Then the outreach ministry team made 4 trips to the Greensboro Science Center which enabled 98 children and parents to attend.   We praise God for the safety during each trip, for the discounted tickets for the Science Center and for getting to share of the love of Christ and truth of God’s Word on each trip.
